Resources for Students

Student ResourcesCMC offers several additional resources to support CMC students and their families and can also connect students to other important resources throughout the Cedar Rapids community. Ask Education staff if you would like more information on the following resources!

Support Services at CMC

Students are welcome to bring their children to class! Many study rooms have toys so children can play while their parents are in class. CMC staff or volunteers are also available to care for children if needed.

Employment Services & Job Club
We have volunteers who can help students look for jobs, prepare a resume, fill out applications, and practice interviews. We also have a Job Club for students who want to learn other important employment skills!

Food Pantry
Any Catherine McAuley Center student may take as much food as they need for their family from the bookshelves located in the CMC lobby. The only information we ask for is the number of people in your family! Shelves are re-stocked daily with items from generous donations and the HACAP Food Reservoir.

CMC serves everyone.  To view the USDA’s Nondiscrimination Statement we follow, please click here.

Transportation Assistance
CMC can provide Cedar Rapids Transit bus tickets for students who need assistance traveling to class. If you need additional help with transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store, or other community activities, CMC can arrange for a volunteer to drive you!
