Welcoming Week

September 10-19, 2021 | Welcoming Week is a global initiative taking place across the U.S. and around the world, inviting local communities to celebrate diversity and inclusion by bringing people together and furthering a welcoming spirit. This Welcoming Week 2021, let’s declare that Belonging Begins With US — that each and every one of us has the power to help others, to be seen, embraced, welcomed, and included in our communities.

Welcoming Week Cedar Rapids is an opportunity to celebrate the values that unite us as neighbors, and to make our communities more welcoming to all who call Eastern Iowa home. By acknowledging Belonging Begins With Us, we call for our neighborhoods, communities, and workplaces to be welcoming and inclusive places where everyone belongs.

This September Catherine McAuley Center celebrated #WelcomingWeek2021 with a week of free webinars and an in-person event that invited participants to build a greater understanding of what it means to be a welcoming community. Thank you for joining us and declaring #BelongingBeginsWithUs!
