Tutor Adult Learners
Qualifications and commitment — 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED. Two-hour initial orientation session and one hour/week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Are you an outgoing person with experience answering a multi-line phone? Do you like to organize things? Not afraid of a few paper cuts? Volunteer in CMC’s office by greeting clients, students, and guests and performing general office work.
Qualifications and commitment — Strong organizational skills, able to take direction, task-focused. Scheduling is flexible; two to three hours/week are ideal.
Organize the Food Pantry
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that’s flexible and will keep you moving? Stock CMC’s food pantry! Volunteers are needed to carry food donations and organize them on shelves.
Qualifications and commitment — Strong organizational skills, able to take direction. Flexible schedule; ongoing needs.
Join a Committee
Do you enjoy developing ideas and planning projects? Join one of the following committees and put your skills to use!
- Public relations
- Human resources
Qualifications and commitment — Interest or expertise in the committee’s purpose. One hour on a monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly basis.
Assist With an Event
Are you a hands-on person? Help with one of our events! We need volunteers to set-up, tear down, prepare invitations, make flyers, and assist attendees at events.
Qualifications and commitment — Strong organizational and people skills. Scheduling and hours are flexible around each event.
Do you like working with children? CMC provides free childcare to students who wish to bring their children to class.
Qualifications and commitment — Have a passion for working with children and be patient and kind. No minimum time commitment; scheduling depends on student needs and availability.
Do you like to work outdoors? Based on the season, you could help pull weeds, mow, trim bushes, plant things, rake, or shovel snow. Know how to fix things? Help keep our building in tiptop shape.
Qualifications and commitment — Physically able to perform outdoor tasks. Hours vary by the season and need.
