As the cost of living rises and while many of our neighbors are on the path to greater stability, CMC strives to provide clients with much-needed food, toiletries, paper goods, and other specialty items. The inventory available in our food pantry and hygiene closet depends on our community for support. Learn how you can help today!
Your supply donations:
Items on our wishlist are most helpful and can be accepted directly by CMC.
Certain items cannot be used by our clients and are not accepted due to limited storage space. As our needs change or community needs arise, some of these items may be requested and added to our wishlist or collected through a specific supply drive.
View a detailed list of our most needed items, more information about what we're currently accepting, and additional resources for donating items.
Supplies can be dropped off to the Catherine McAuley Center, located at 1220 5th Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA, and a member of our staff will assist you at the main entrance.

For larger items, such as furniture to set up homes for refugee resettlement clients; CMC now partners with Central Furniture Rescue to collect, store, and distribute these items on our behalf. Through this partnership, CMC clients still have access to donations of home furnishings as they have in the past, while reducing time spent coordinating and moving items and increasing our capacity to serve clients.
Please contact Central Furniture Rescue directly to donate large furnishings:
Rally your workplace, community groups, or other networks together to collect our most needed items and food pantry necessities.
If you live outside of Cedar Rapids and are unable to drop off items, or maybe you prefer shopping online, you can browse our Amazon wishlist and ship items directly to us!
If we are currently unable to accept an item you wish to donate, you can still help us! Bring clothing or household goods you would otherwise throw out to Stuff, Etc. Quality Consignment (Cedar Rapids or Coralville), and CMC will receive the proceeds, which typically add up to several hundred dollars each year! Donation receipt available upon request. Items are subject to Stuff’s usual restrictions.
