Tutor

In order to prepare our volunteers for success, some of our roles require orientation.  Read on to learn what to expect and to sign up!

Education Services

Week 1: Orientation- Get introduced to the Catherine McAuley Center, learn some tips for working with adult learners.

Week 2: Watch additional training videos, complete an assignment, and shadow an experienced volunteer.

Start Tutoring! CMC’s staff will match you with a student and join your first meeting to help facilitate introductions!

 

Refugee & Immigrant Services

One Session: Learn who refugees and immigrants are, how we serve them, how you can get involved, and get trained on best practices to use when working with clients.

 

LIFE Program

One Session: Learn the purpose and objectives of the LIFE program for refugee and immigrant youth, and opportunities to get involved!  Volunteers will also be trained on best practices to use when working with clients.

 

CMC Kids

One Session: Volunteers will be trained on CMC Kids’ policies and processes, as well as receive tips on how to create an inclusive atmosphere for kids!
