A Tribute to Ruth Martin

From The Mustard Seed, Summer 2011

Long time Catherine McAuley Center volunteer and tutor, Ruth Martin passed away February 25, 2011. Ruth was born February 23, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Clark College in Dubuque and was a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for 29 years. During that period, Ruth taught in Illinois, New York, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and St. Jude’s in Cedar Rapids.

In her retirement, Ruth was a dedicated tutor at CMC for nearly seven years. All at the
Center will forever treasure her dedication to her students. Aunt Ruthie, as her family called her, was a model of how to care for other people, especially her family and friends. We will miss her greatly.
